There is no greater joy than being alone in the presence of our Creator. It refreshes the soul, recharges the faith, calms the heart, and fills the mind.
Adam walked with God in the cool of the evening before the fall. That was part of the perfection of creation. Walking and talking with God in a quiet peaceful place. That was in part WHY we exist! Still today, deep in our hearts, is that desire, that drive to fulfill our purpose… Spending time with our Father and Creator.
These are the moments that, once experienced, we never want to end. As the old hymn says, “He bids me go, through a voice of woe”… Neither wants to leave because it is so joyful to be together.
Jesus knew this joy, and this need. He purposefully left the crowds to be alone with his Father. Those moments are why He could walk out and preach everlasting sermons, heal thousands, and speak calm to the storms. The time alone with God was necessary for the humanness of Jesus to remain strong and purposeful.
The same is true for us. Get alone and seek Him. One thing scripture promises… If you do this, you will find that He is already waiting for you.
